Cause:Success, Inc. was founded in January 1995 by Victoria Halas. Her background includes 15 years in information systems management positions of increasing scope and responsibility with Occidental Petroleum, Borg Warner Acceptance Corporation, and Transamerica Commercial Finance prior to creating Cause:Success.
While at Transamerica, Victoria acted as the liaison between Transamerica Commercial Finance, their seven subsidiaries, and the IT Department. In addition to the momentous task of consolidating policy and procedure among the seven subsidiaries, Victoria was the only individual to successfully manage the reporting integration and implementation of the month-end financials from the seven different IT environmentsa heterogeneous mix of platforms that included AS400, RS6000 (Unix), Novell/Windows NT, IBM 4381 and 3090s, and a host of client workstations running MS Windows variants.
Victorias success is attributable to her expertise in business process improvement; specifically, identifying and instituting best practices in areas of corporate process and policy that meet both current and future business requirements, with minimal impact to customers AND the corporate bottom line. In doing so, she brings a considerable breadth of skills to bear, including business need analyses with recommended solutions, software package evaluation/selection, vendor negotiations, implementation plans, cost analyses and procedures documentation.
In addition, Victoria brings considerable proficiency in the areas of design, development and staffing of new departments, the stabilization of existing policies, procedures and functionality, and staff skills enhancement to keep pace with changing environments.
She is past president and VP of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP), formerly known as the Data Processing Management Association (DPMA) and serves on the board of directors of Todays Chicago Women Foundation (TCWF).
Her husband, George, joined the firm full-time in January of 1998 after ten very successful years in sales and marketing for three highly regarded Chicago-based I.S. consulting firms. Prior to that, George spent 11 years in retainer-based executive search and technical recruiting. While with a Chicago-based consulting firm, George developed business relationships with pharmaceutical and healthcare firms to the point that his practice was spun off into an entirely new consulting firm. He was a two-time DPMA president as well as vice-president and programs director, has been active in the SAS Users Group International (SUGI), the Chicago Panel on Education, and is a member of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Y2K Task Force.
